THE LEGACY OF THETA
by Bro. Jordan F. McMillan, Theta ‘84
Now I'm an Alphaman, Proud to wear my pin
Make no mistake, the House of Alpha is why I wear a grin
But here in Illinois, in February of 1910
The House was built by THETA, that's why cordiality exists within
Alpha is the Brotherhood that brings us all around
But THETA is our home, our love, our manhood training ground
The bootcamp of brotherhood, the love for all mankind
Yes, I'm my brother's keeper, that's the THETA state of mind
We're the Thrillers of Manila, the Eighth Wonder we have been called
THETA's arms are stretched out waiting, holding an umbrella for us all
Brothers, just stop and listen, THETA welcomes you with a song,
Like a 100 year old grandmother 'Baby, where have you been so long?'
As we celebrate our 100 years, our hearts all filled with pride
Just remember what you learned from her and lock it deep inside
"THETA's in my heart, sir!!", as recollection weaves its spell
100 years of memories, with stories yet to tell
So open up your hearts and let the knowledge flow,
The future of THETA depends on it, our brothers need to know
College days swiftly pass, life's hurdles clearly in view
But you know how to handle them 'cause THETA's deep in you
One more thing before I leave, for every brother with THETA on his sleeve
Ask yourself.... Honestly, "What type of legacy will I leave?"
Alpha is the Brotherhood that brings us all around
But THETA is our home, our love, our manhood training ground
The bootcamp of brotherhood, the love for all mankind
Yes, I'm my brother's keeper, that's the THETA state of Mind
